Small Steps

Must be 2 by September 1st.  Class meets 2 days per week.

AM Class time: 9:00 – 11:30

PM Class time: 12:30 – 3:00

This twice a week class provides our youngest children the opportunity to explore and interact in a safe environment.  Colors, shapes, numbers and letters are introduced through art, table activities and music.  They are encouraged and guided to make choices that promote confidence and age appropriate behavior while learning classroom routines.

Preschool

Must be 3 by September 1st and fully potty trained.  Class meets 2 days per week.

Preschool is a class designed to prepare the children for a Pre-Kindergarten class.  The children will learn basic skills in handwriting, letters and mathematics.  The will rotate through learning centers while socializing and playing with classmates.  Themes throughout the year include shapes, sizes, seasons, senses and community helpers, to name a few.  Basic concepts such as same/different, opposites, positional rhyming and sequencing are also introduced.  Every letter is also introduced, including the letter name, letter sound, and writing the letter in upper-hand.  Both fine and gross motor skills will be developed as the children explore the classroom.

PreKindergarten

Must be 4 by September 1st.  Class meets 3 days per week

PreKindergarten (PreK) is a preparatory Kindergarten class.  The curriculum focuses on developing pre-reading, pre-math and emergent writing skills using the Handwriting without Tears program.  Games and hands-on activities are always incorporated to strengthen sensory and fine motor skills.  During the school day, there is also plenty of music, dramatic play, art and story-telling.

PreK Plus 

Must be 4 by September 1st.   Class meets 4 days per week

PM time: 12:30 – 3:00 PM

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Class size: 18 Teaching Staff: 3

$320.00/month

The PreK Plus program is designed to prepare students for Kindergarten.  The children will learn basic academic skills in reading, handwriting and mathematics.  Additionally, the students develop social skills through art projects, learning centers and creative projects.  Specific skills that will be introduced include identifying and writing uppercase and lowercase letters, reading word families and sight words.  Mathematic skills will include number recognition, addition, subtraction, skip counting, graphing and identifying coins.

Stepping Stones

Must be 5 by December 1st.  Class meets 5 day per week.

The Stepping Stones class is geared for the oldest children who do not meet the cutoff date for Kindergarten or are not quite ready socially or emotionally  The curriculum focuses on the alphabet taught phonetically, beginning, and ending sounds, language arts, math, handwriting, art, fine and gross motor skills.  Emphasis is placed on the strengths and weaknesses of each child, while developing increased senses of responsibility and independence.
